Stuff I use for my face

Saturday, April 9, 2011

Currently, I am not using a skincare regime or routine. What I simply do now is wash my face with cleanser at night, if I have to then I'll use cleanser in the morning or simply use water. I am not favoring the cleanser that I'm using now, it sort of dries my skin out so I only use a small pea size of it. I apply a light amount of jojoba oil after cleansing morning and night. In the morning, after applying jojoba oil, I apply sunscreen. About once or twice a week I would use turmeric root, cut it and gently rub it on my pimples. I am still using the green bean starch-yogurt drink mask. A week ago, my mom bought cinnamon powder from a chinese herbal store. (She can't settle for the grocery kind) And told me to try applying it with honey. I did this and I was able to see an improvement in my skin. While washing it off, my skin felt really soft. I did some research

and saw that I could
combine cinnamon and honey with nutmeg and a little lemon. I decided to go with this and my skin became blotchy red due to the irritating lemon. I still continued with this about twice a week but I used very little (like two drops) lemon juice from the lemon and diluted it with water. My skin became less irritated. And the acne is still at bay =). I am also hoping that the lemon would lighten my scars a bit, which I believe will take a long time to heal.

Instead
of piling my skin with tons of stuff, I started using less.

I have read some stuff about using lemons on your face, but I haven't tried because I'm worried it would sting.
I think I tried honey before but it was very sticky and I didn't like that. Maybe I should try it again.

*sigh* Acne is such a pain. Good luck with yours!

That's actually the way to go, less really IS more. Especially for acne-prone skin like mine (and maybe yours?). It's tough to battle it with more products, your skin fights it off on its own which = better, longer lasting results.

Cute blog and I'm a new follower :)
